Fifteen Consecutive Days of Running

Little Diva lost her first two teeth on Monday. She lost one in the morning and the second after eating corn-on-the-cob at dinner. What a whirlwind of milestones my little six-year-old has had in the last week or so. First learning to ride her bike … now a toothless grin. She really is growing up! Now Little Dude (2 ½) sits in the mirror waiting for his teethers to fall out!

Little Diva loses her teeth …. and I lose toenails!! I finally lost the black, loose toenail from my Marathon in May. It’s amazing how your body knows what to do and helps your toesies heal after they’ve endured all of that physical pain. It fell off without pain and an itty-bitty toenail was growing underneath. Sorry for TMI, but for those of you that have never lost one … it really isn’t all that bad. This is my second time losing one.

Keeping my training program on my refrigerator door is really holding me accountable this month. This past weekend, I logged every single mile … plus more … and have surpassed 800 miles for the year. Running with Little Diva on her bike has really helped me put in some extra miles, too. I WILL log 166 miles+ this month!!!!!

I haven’t had a rest day since June 21. That is 15 consecutive days of running. Whew! I was trying to make up miles at the end of June and just kept going. Even though my longest run was only twelve miles (+ 2 mi along side Little Diva on her bike) during that timeframe, my legs are absolutely trashed. It was hard to pull off those six miles on Monday afternoon. But, I did it. I am really looking forward to a day of rest on Wednesday. Our neighbor is running every single day in 2010 (and is still going strong). I don’t know how he does it?!

I hope that everyone had a
wonderful Independence Day!!
And, logged LOTS of MILES last weekend!!!
JULY IS A WHOLE NEW MONTH ...
Freshen up ...
SET SOME MID-YEAR GOALS!!

What do you hope
to do this month?!?!

Little diva is having quite the monumental week.
July will be filled with running and biking for me. Today was a 35 mile bike ride - tomorrow is a 40 minute tempo and an afternoon 20 mile bike ride.

  10. Good job on your miles and 15 consecutive days of running. You make me wanna go out there and run a few miles every time I read about your runs. Thanks!
Little Diva is growing up! I lost one of my baby teeth in a hamburger. It didn't hurt at all.
This July, I want to log at least 60 miles and run a 5K in under 32 minutes (under 30 minutes would be awesome).
    Good luck for July!

  11. By the way, is there anything you do before/during/after your runs to prevent injuries? My legs and joints feel a little tight after 2 or 3 days of consecutive running. Do share what you do to keep your joints going. Thanks in advance.

Congrats to Little Diva on the bike riding and losing two teeth, she's gonna have some major money coming from the tooth fairy! :)
