Running with Little Diva

Tonight, Little Diva agreed to head outside with me (in perfect running weather!) for a little loop of the neighborhood. Me and my fabulous six-year-old ... in matching leopard print Bondi Bands ... covered an entire 5K loop in 43 minutes! I was so proud of her for moving those little feet along side me. We got lots of smiles from folks out running the streets and walking their dogs. We crossed the streets, running hand-and-hand. It was truly awesome. I told her that she has left a permanent smile on my face for the rest of the night!!!

Some of my favorite quotes from tonight:

"I'm just gonna concentrate on my breathing ... is this what it's like having a baby?!"
"This hurts really bad ... but it's a GOOD hurt."
"Let's pass that guy walking his dog."
"Say, GIRLS RULE, when I say to, ok, mommy?!"
"Oh, look at the little baby stop sign (on pedestrian path).
I wonder where the mommy and daddy stop signs are?!"
"Can I run another race with you, mommy?"
Anytime.

  6. That is awesome. It's so great that you and little diva can get out there and experience this together. It's also going to give her confidence and the want to do this as she grows up!

  7. That is too cute! Now I am even more sad I don't have a little girl. My boys just can't rock a running skirt and bondi band the same way! Glad you had so much fun.

  9. How awesome! And I can't believe she is so fabulous as to finish a 5K. :) Way to go, Little Diva! I know Katie wants to try running with me, too, so I'll have to pick a distance and see how she does.
