The Return of the Little Red Car

Well, the treadmill has died (more on that later) and Little Diva is back in school. So, Little Dude and I are enjoying our first "mommy day" together, just the two of us.

Since I can't use the treadmill and we recently cancelled our YMCA membership for time-being. After breakfast, blogging and putting some puzzles together, Little Dude and I headed outside for a few miles.

OMG -- on Sunday it was 90 degrees. Today is a frigid high of 63 degrees today ... and WINDY (holy windy!).

The return of our runs together, also means the return of his little red car. He loves that thing. We ran two miles down to the playground and then another three mile journey back home. We returned home and a neighbor asked me what I did with Little Dude while I was running this morning. And I told her he sat in that car for almost an hour. She couldn't believe it. YOU wouldn't believe it either, if you knew Little Dude. The kid never sits still and is constantly in to everything. But, in his little red car, he just chills and takes it all in. The good little guy even puts his snack wrappers away and opens up the car's lid to prevent littering.

Good Little Dude better be just as angelic getting his haircut this afternoon and not make a scene at the library either!!

"Cheese" apparently means squinty your eyes

Thumb's Up!!, Little Dude !!
I love "mommy day" with you !!

  9. Omigosh, I LOVE that red hair and smile of his! That little red car looks awesome too... I'm taking a mental note of that thing for when my kiddo (currently 6 months old) gets to be that age. :)

  10. He is adorable! And yeah that he sits in his car so you can run. Mine is now too big for any type of running stroller, yet too little to stay home alone.

  12. I give you huge props if your windy day was anything like mine. I'm only an hour and half northeast of you. The wind was gusting so strongly that I could not imagine running in this. I feel for you not having the treadmill with the WI winter around the corner!

And your little dude is so darn cute! Love the cheesy smile.

  14. cute pictures. That's the thing about the second child: when the first one is away, the time alone with the second becomes that much more precious. Mine realizes that too and now loves it when Big Brother is gone, leaving the two of us alone.

  15. He is SO CUTE! Is he as ornery as he looks, though? You should let him sit in his car while he gets his hair cut!

  16. I'm a big runner too although it's been hard to find time for it with the girls home this summer. When I run they glide along side me on their razors. It works pretty good! I'm looking forward to getting back to running!

  18. Jamie...have you ever run the Henry Vilas Zoo Run Run? I'm thinking about running it but wanted to hear what it was like.
