Home Depot Kids Workshop

We always look forward to the first Saturday of the month.  We call it "Home Depot Day" in our house.  The Home Depot Kids Workshop is a FREE event for the whole family (HERE).

  • FREE hands-on workshops; designed for children ages 5 - 12.
  • Offered the 1st Saturday of every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  • All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin.
  • One workshop kit, apron and pin per child, while supplies last.

Little Diva and Little Dude wear their orange aprons proudly.  The back of the store is packed with young children, accompanied by family and friends.  Kids receive an apron at their first class and every class after, they will receive a special pin for each project they complete.  They also receive a certificate of achievement each month and a treat.

Kids and parents sit at plywood tables and on little orange buckets.  It is so much fun watching them get excited while they assemble their creations.  Little Dude loves hands-on projects and tinkering around the house.  Sometimes I think that he breaks things, just so that he can fix them!  He loves putting on his goggles at Home Depot and banging at a nail with a hammer, painting wood pieces and following written and verbal instructions along the way.  Little Diva enjoys tinkering away on Saturday mornings as well.

Our home is filled with lots of handmade cars, gadgets, boxes - and now a tic-tac-toe game.
