Lately, I've been making up a lot of gift baskets as fun .... and affordable .... presents. They have been a HUGE hit with the recipients.
My sister is an animal print lover (like myself). I made her up a bright, summertime gift basket for her 17th birthday. The card store even had brightly-colored animal print balloons that matched (if you can believe it?!), and I affixed those. I even made her a matching card and envelope. She loved it! We definitely made an entrance at Red Lobster!!
At the end of her year of kindergarten, Little Diva presented her teacher with this little number. All items (basket, frame, candle, planter) were purchased from the dollar store!!
I came across the cute poem on the internet.
For Father's Day, I purchased some randome items that fit my husband's interests and put them all in a (FREE!) metal basket that we had hiding away down stairs. The hodge podge of randomness varied from Scrabble, Disney, and Clif bars!! But, it all fit together, because it was "him". I picked up the Scrabble-to-go game after the holidays when stocking stuffers were 75% off. Some of the other items were picked up at Savers (thrift store) and at discount on Amazon.
Chocolate of course, LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of stuffing stockings at Christmas time - my FAVOURITE part of the holidays. I'd love to find a good magazine, gummi candies or a little craft in my basket.

I love that poem you found! How sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteI love gift baskets too....if I were to get one I'd want running stuff lol. Maybe some headbands, running mags/books, GUs, etc. Ooh, and a new handheld water bottle!
I agree with MJ....running stuff!! and perhaps some chocolate! Although I am more of a Carb Boom girl than a GU girl! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove this. Stockings are my favorite part of Christmas! I would love to see anything running related. Not too many chocolates or candy because I would eat them all!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the other girls...I want running gear. Bondi Bands, GU, Blocks, Handheld Water Bottles, Road Id, Socks, Born to Run book and the list goes on and on!
ReplyDeleteChocolate, running socks, a Sweaty Band, a handheld water bottle, and post-it notes!! I hope my husband is reading this; I have a birthday coming up.
ReplyDeleteA running one would be awesome because I still haven't been able to try most of the cool running products out there (bondi bands, GU, socks, whatever blocks are?) But I wouldn't hate on getting some mini butterfingers either!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I might steal this idea to make baskets for my girlfriends when we do our 1st 1/2 marathon together! Genius!
ReplyDeleteI would like chocolate, gum, tatoos, hair accessories are always great, chapstick....do they make running silly bands? :), Socks, gu, books.....
I love giving gift baskets! It's my go to gift :)
ReplyDeleteIn mine wine, different food (pasta, etc), or a runner basket of socks, gu's and other randomness.
I love gift baskets and make them up for friends often...so much so that I just re-launched my gift basket business that I use to run years ago!
ReplyDeleteYour baskets are great - very creative!!
a new puppy.
ReplyDeleteIf it is for a runner, Bondi band, elastic bands for the hair, safety pins, socks, GU gels/chomps, chewing gum (just because I like to chew gum when I run).
ReplyDeleteOr just a bunch of random stuff that I like. I like drugstore makeup, cook, bake, eat, journal, write cards, so a little bit of everything would be a nice gift too. It is like a basket of surprises.
I'm putting together a basket for a friend that I've talked in to walking her first half marathon...I have gels and different energy products for her to try, Bondi Bands, Body Glide, etc....It should be fun!
ReplyDeleteLove these! Of course I would want all things running .... socks, blocks, maybe a cute headband, jolly ranchers, etc. :)
