A Date with Little Diva (Girly Edition)

I love my dates with my Little Diva. Girl time. Alone time. One-on-one time. Fun time. Just me and my first born. Our little dates have evolved over time as she's grown and her interests have changed.

She had off of school at the end of October and Little Dude would be at daycare for his Halloween party. So, I took off of work and we had a fabulous girls day.

We started off the day with a trip to Panera for bagels and coffee. The little bookworm read a chapter book and I caught up on my email.

Then, we headed over to Regency Beauty School (HERE) in Madison. The beauty school is a great place to get yourself pampered and not break your wallet in process. Little Diva had a mani/pedi (not her first!), I had a pedicure, and we both received our bottles of OPI nailpolish. Not bad for $41 + tip.

Then, we ran some errands and headed over to Fired Up Pottery (HERE) at their new location in Monona. We had visited their Cottage Grove location before and had a blast. Their new location is bigger, brighter and even more fun. There are so many projects to choose from. We could have painted for hours.

I bet you can't guess who made what?!

Little Diva is sooooo creative and loves making crafts and projects. We had a $10 off coupon that I had received in the mail, so she was able to complete a couple of pieces. I hate going anywhere without a coupon!

We ended the day with a trip to Red Robin. My healthy Little Diva has the most interesting taste for a six-year-old. She chose clam chowder and a side salad from the menu and stole my melon.

It told Little Diva that (even with the deals and my coupons) that she was an expensive date. She assured me she was worth it. And yes, the alone time with her is worth every single penny.

Do you take your little one(s) on dates?
How do you make sure that they
get alone time with mommy?

  1. I love taking my little guys on dates. In fact I'm planning a trip to the beach with my oldest for some sand castle building time. We love going to the movies or even going grocery shopping with me and getting a special treat is always fun.

  3. Unfortunately, I don't get to have as much one-on-one time with my kids as I'd like. Hubby and I have opposite shifts, so I have to figure out more child care options in order to take one out with me.

  5. Great that you took a special day with her. I try to give both kids one on one time like that, but it doesn't happen as often as I'd like!

  6. I think this is awesome, and I try to do things like this too with my kids one-on-one... but it's just not as easy these days with hubby's insane work hours. Glad you had an amazing day!
