Well, we all have an extra hour on our hands today. I am so thankful for that. Some of us got an extra hour of sleep (most likely, not the mommas), some of us spent an extra hour cleaning the house and running errands ..... and the crazy runners like me ... well, we ran.
Typically, I tell myself that I'm going to run 3, 4 or 6 miles on the treadmill. I start at my crazy-strange 6.6 MPH start-out pace and increase the pace from there. Not today. I decided that I was going to go for time today ... not distance. I wanted to see how far I could run with that extra hour today. Could I do seven miles?!?!?
I started out at my crazy-strange 6.6 MPH pace for three miles and then gradually increased the 'mill all the way up to 9.0 MPH. Push it. Pound it. Crank it. Stop it.
I stopped the 'mill at exactly 1 hour ... on the nail. And, the distance read 7.0 miles. Sweet.
It felt great that I really pushed it for a full hour today, instead of just 'doing my thing'. And, I ran ... fast. It was fun mixing it up and going for time, instead of distance. Try it.
extra hour today?!
Mix it up ....
How far can YOU run
in one hour?!
good stuff! thats a nice run! great use of the extra hour.
ReplyDeletei spent it sleeping in! lol
I ran this morning as well. 1 Hour 40 minutes worth. But since I was planning that with the extra hour or not, I guess I wasted the hour on sleep or the movie last night.
ReplyDeleteDaylight savings has been here for a month now and am loving the warm weather. was seriously sick of running in the dark. Way to go on pushing yourself :-)
ReplyDeleteMy extra hour? I took a nap.
ReplyDeleteI went out to an early breakfast with some friends... :) Hoping to run this afternoon/evening...
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I spent my extra hour running. Did 6.68 miles in 1 hour and 8 minutes.
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow runner, I think that's an awesome way to use your extra hour! Kuddos to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm under the weather so unfortunately I couldn't use my hour to run today :(
ReplyDeleteWay to go on your 7 miles!!
Great job! By the way, I love that you color coordinate your Bondi Band even when you are at home running on the treadmill! I spent most of my extra hour running with brick legs I might add and then I spent the day shopping with my mom!!
ReplyDeleteI spent my extra hour doing dishes and other chores around the house before we left for church. Since you know small children don't always sleep in that extra hour like you want them to, I was up bright and early! Plenty of time to do that work so I could relax later on. :)
ReplyDelete7 miles in an hour is fast. woo woot - Great pushing it on the treadmill.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great day to enjoy the outdoors. I took the dogs for a run this morning - ran the Turkey Trot and then when to the dog park. Great day!
Great job! So awesome that you were able to push through- those are the best kinds of runs.
ReplyDeleteI didn't run today, but I agree that it is a nice way to use an extra hour of the weekend :). I love running for time, and I think it's actually a bit more helpful sometimes than running for distance. The most I have ever ran in an hour was 6.47 miles, though.

Awesome job!! Wow that is FAST on the treadmill!!! lol
ReplyDeleteawesome idea! fun and way too fast for me! congrats.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Congrats on making 7M in 1hour!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to use your extra hour and very fast... I could maybe squeek out 6 in an hour.
ReplyDeleteI took a nap with the extra hour... my baby was up all night yesterday.
I rode a 50K wine tour in the pouring rain. Good times.
ReplyDeleteI actually hate the time change. DOn't see the point at all!! All it means is I lose an hour or light later in the day which is the only time that i can go run...well at least we have headlamps to help I guess!!
ReplyDeleteI lazed around the house for the entire day!
ReplyDeleteI slept in a bit, but eventually I hit the pavement and got in my 10-mile long run for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteLiving in AZ we don't get an extra hour - our time never changes :)! Great job on the mill though!
