Polar Bottle (HERE) is the original insulated plastic sport bottle. It keeps liquids colder longer than other water bottles. Twice as long, in fact. They have been creating bottles since 1994 and I’ve seen them everywhere. Their bottles have evolved over the years, since they’ve added those brightly colored foil liners (the huge line of colors initially sparked my interest a few years back at Dick’s Sporting Goods) and patterns and an innovative removable valve system. Oh yeah, Polar Bottles are popular everywhere, but made in America!
The bottles are available in 20 (9 inches) and 24 (10.5 inches) oz sizes. The bottles tend to be taller than other bottles on the market, which means they can hold more. But, this also makes them a bit more difficult to stash in your purse or diaper bag. I’ve also find it awkward to store on some treadmills or on a stroller (they are simply just taller). But, I haven’t experience spillage or them falling over or anything, due to the height. Because they are larger, this also means that they can carry more fluids … which is a good thing. You will stay well-hydrated.
Many of us receive free water bottles everywhere or cheap versions at discount stores. Hubby and I experience a lot of leakage and spillage from these cheap bottles I really like that the Polar Bottles stay tightly-spilled and my favorite beverage doesn’t leak out. Because they aren’t cheap, they are little more of an investment. But, they are cheaper and more eco-friendly than purchasing bottled water or sports drinks. The 20 oz bottle retails for $11 and the 24 oz bottle retails for $12. A wise investment over time.
Combining the thermal properties of an insulated vacuum bottle with the lightweight, flexible features of a plastic bottle, the Polar Bottle is the ideal choice for active people. Simply fill with liquid and ice and hit the trail. For even longer cooling power, fill your Polar Bottle and store it in the freezer before use. Either way, it will keep liquids cold twice as long as conventional water bottles.
I tend to fill my bottle before bed and sip throughout the night. Usually I still have half of the bottle left and sip on it as I’m getting ready for my day or on my drive into the office. It’s still cool (not cold, but cool).
I do love to add ice cubes to my water or beverage of choice and most water bottles won’t fit ice cubes through the mouth of the bottle. Polar Bottles DO fit ice cubes – yeah! This makes me happy.
These wash up well by hand or in the dishwasher. I throw mine in the dishwasher all of the time … especially after Little Dude sips on my water … and I need to decontaminate the bottle from toddler germs!
I like the carrying loop on the bottle when I was carrying it around. But, I found it annoying while I drank. This is easily removable.
Other Unique features of the Polar Bottle:
Removable Valve (Urethane drinking valve is removable for cleaning.)
Double-wall construction: a thermal barrier of air keeps heat out and cold in
Foil layer reflects solar rays for additional thermal protection.
Bike-Friendly Design (Fits standard bicycle water bottle cages)
BPA & Phthalate-Free Plastic
