Quick Ragnar Relay Reflections

Last Friday, I embarked on a 200 mile journey from Madison to Chicago with 2 vans full of 12 ladies ... Some I knew ... some I've only met through cyberspace.

The Ragnar Relay was a crazy experience that deserves a full recap.  It's something that I'm sure is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.  And I'm glad that I was able to experience it.  I've been constantly asked if I would do it again.  And my answer is, "I would ... but I probably won't.".  Just like the marathon experience, that could change as I get further away from the event.

I'm not quite sure how to condense all of the experiences, planning, dedication, regrets and devotion by my teamates into one blog post entry.
.... and then there is also the running! ....

 Stay tuned.

  1. While driving down to Indiana on Saturday, we encountered 2 support vans. I wondered what was going on, and figured it was this, one van said "From Madison to Chicago". I said to my daughter, "Aw man, I wish I was doing this!" But wow, it was a really HOT day. Can't wait to read more about it!

  2. Apparently I have such a high opinion of you as a runner, I thought you had run 200 miles! I was sure relieved to read you drove them though.

  3. One of my neighbors has also done Ragnar and shared the same sentiment: she would, but she probably wouldn't. Can't wait to hear more when you have the time to share with us!

  4. I am having a hard time starting my recap. I just dont know how to get all the experiences and emotions down into one blog post!

I agree with you. I would do another Ragnar, but probably not for a while. It took a lot out of all of us!

  5. I have been on relay teams five times for 50 and 55-mile relays, I can only imagine that the 200-mile one was pretty intense. While I enjoy the 50 mile relays, I have never been tempted by the longer races,...seems like too much togetherness to me. I'll look forward to reading about your experience though!

  7. Absolutely agree with you and Rachel's comment. Where to start? How to get the whole experience into a post? How I actually feel about the whole thing?
