Ahnu Footwear Product Review & Giveaway

Introducing the new Ahnu Jackie from Ahnu Footwear (HERE).  The line from Ahnu was developed by Jenny Fredericks and Jacqueline Van Dine - friends, mothers, athletes and industry veterans who share a work hard/play hard philosophy. Preferring trails over treadmills, they enjoy outside activities with friends and family as a way to unwind from life’s demands.  Joined by Jim Van Dine, the three founders combined their passions by engineering performance shoes with modern organic aesthetics, on-trend designs and sleek, vibrant colors. By making “outdoor” more accessible, just as fun and a little less “agro,” they hope to inspire life of nature sufficiency.  With careful and intentional choices, they found a balance between fitness and fashion, performance and aesthetics, profit and philanthropy, and work and play. It was only fitting that they named their company after the Celtic goddess of balance between well being and prosperity.

About the Ahnu Jackie Shoe (HERE):

Available in three bright wovens, this low profile slip-on is infused with high-tech comfort features and cushioning to keep you balanced and blister free – you could literally go hiking in these shoes! The rubber sole keeps you steady – even when splashing through Spring puddles – and moisture wicking mesh and antimicrobial treatment keep you high and dry. It’s truly the shoe for everything and everyday – the Jackie of all trades!

Pair with denim for a bike ride around the city, add some punch to your yoga pants for an urban hike, or style with a sundress for the ultimate cool, casual look.

The Ahnu Jackie retails for $110.

Designed for:
All-day walking comfort
Easy to wear and easy to pack
On-the-go lifestyle

Product Details:
Numentum Honeycomb Technology internal midsole of polyurethane with U-shaped heel stabilizer
High surface contact non-marking rubber
Moisture wicking synthetic mesh
Microfiber with antimicrobial treatment

I received a pair in bright chartreuse in a size 10.  They are also available in grenadine and majolica blue.

I was a little skeptical about how versatile these shoes were, but they were great for taking the kids on walk and for playing at the park.  I haven't tried them for hiking or on dirt or gravel trails, but I have a feeling that they would hold up well.  I wasn't sure if they would stay on my heels well, but they didn't move or bounce (something that I often struggle with slip-ons).  They were perfect for running errands around town and for playing outside.  I wore them several times without socks and they were comfy, as I led up to the final days before my marathon, and I was babying my feet.  My feet stayed dry and I didn't experience a lot of sweating, like I often do without socks.  I also love the bright color and the honeycomb fabric ... very easy to wash up after a hike or trip to the park.
