I headed outside and the weather was just as gorgeous as it appeared to be from my office window. I was worried that I was going to overheat, and I did.
I dressed in pink ....
from head ....
... to toe
... to toe
I headed out along Lake Mendota on the University of Wisconsin Campus. Many students and employees were out on foot. I can't even count how many runners I nodded to while I was out on my thirty minute journey.
The slightly warmer temps caused the path to be a sloppy, muddy mess. I was happy that I wore an older pair of Brooks Adrenaline's today. They were a complete disaster when I was done. It was kind of fun splashing around in the muddy puddles and dodging the rare patch of ice.
I attempted to take a quick video of the beautiful path along the lakeshore. The sun was setting over the horizon, my feet were splashing in a nice rhythm along the trail ....
and I was apparently breathing really, really heavy!! :)
It was so much fun to get outside again today and enjoy the outdoors. So refreshing ... and so much fun! I soooo can't wait for spring to be here. There are so many great places to run around Madison and I want to explore them all, now that I have some extra time on my hands.
Where is your favorite place
to sneak away for a run???
Love seeing your pix of Mad-town! I love that town!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to run is along our riverfront, or a wooded trail.
The lakeshore path. Love it! Seeing your pics makes me miss Madison.
ReplyDeleteFun pictures - it's great to see where you enjoy to run.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of in a rut when it comes to my chosen paths, but I have a couple of canal paths that I really enjoy running/walking on!
Great photos! I love running outside!! I just started running outside recently so I'm trying to discover my favorite path still!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great day for a run. Love the lake shore path.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Looks like a great run.
ReplyDeleteMy fave run is one of the trails we do group long runs on, but part of it flooded and a bridge was uprooted. It is rolling hills, on the water, just beautiful scenery. I sure hope it's up and repaired soon.
Looks like a fun and refreshing run! This time of year seems to mean layers. layers. layers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful route, and cute headband! I love running outside, but there's not too much variety where I am, so I usually go pretty much the same way.
ReplyDeleteI love running right where you were! It was so nice out yesterday. Glad you got to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love sneaking away for a run during lunch on Bayshore Blvd. Unfortunately, we're moving office locations soon, and I may not be able to do that anymore. Boo! :(
How cute are you!!!!!

Thanks so much for the comment on my blog! I'm excited to catch up on what I've missed on yours... and by the way, I know everyone says this to everyone, but this is FOR REAL. YOUR CHILDREN ARE BEAUTIFUL. Like, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love to sneak away and run through back roads by my house. You notice all kinds of things you'd never see driving by.
ReplyDeleteLoved the last two posts. Great pictures and the ABC's were fun to read. You looked and sounded great! Hopefully the weather stays nice for you. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Jamie!! Adorable as always!
ReplyDeleteI love the trail in the next town--it's fun to be away from traffic. When I go home to Omaha, I run around the lakes in the many state parks!
Thanks for taking me along for your run via your photo's!!
ReplyDeleteAlways good to dress in pink!!!! Drea
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I love your 21k every month goal!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! It makes me miss Wisconsin!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! I love to get away to our local (and sometimes not so local) singletrack when I get a chance.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'll be up in your state (though not so much your neck of the woods) at the end of April/beginning of May. My brother and I are running the LaCrosse marathon May 1.
Enjoy the (finally!) nicer weather! :)
So I love your headband on this post and I had to tell you that I just recieved a SUPER cute Punkeelove Headband in the mail today! I gave you some love on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteYou need some pink shoes. Surely someone makes a kick-ass pair of pink kicks you could run in?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to sneak a run is along Seneca Lake in between teaching classes in central NY.
