There is also a Kids’ Marathon, scheduled to take place on Saturday May 25th, 2013 11:00 a.m. The Med City Kids’ Marathon is held every year during Memorial Day Weekend. It is open to all students in grades K-8. The goal is for students to run a marathon a little at a time. Each participant logs 25 miles prior to the run and completes the marathon of 26.2 miles by running 1.2 miles in this event. The run is free and each finisher receives a well-deserved marathon medal.
The Toddler Trot takes place on Saturday May 25th, 2013 1:00 p.m. at Mayo Civic Drive, Mayo Civic Center. The event is for toddler's, ages 2 - 5 years old, as they complete a 50 yard dash.
There is also a family-friendly kids play zone at the events. Perfect for your little ones and your spouse, waiting for you at the finish line.
I've ran one half marathon in Minnesota, and I'm looking forward to crossing Minnesota off of my full marathon list as well. I enjoy point-to-point races, when the logistics are carefully planned out. So, hopefully everything will go off as planned, and we can just enjoy the 4 - 4.5 hours out on the course!!
