These dates give us the opportunity to spend time together, to do things that we wouldn't do on a normal day with the Little Dude (who can be quite a handful at times!) and be girly!
Since I'm on a limited budget, I dug out all of my gift cards and coupons and mapped out our day ....
We started off at the hair salon, where we caught up with my hairdresser and I used a coupon for a much needed haircut.
Then we headed to the mall, where Little Diva used a gift card to a jewelry store. I forgot that Santa left it in her stocking. We enjoyed digging through the racks, and finding some treasures .... including these awesome Mother/Daughter necklaces. I love that we each will have half wherever either one of us is. We also splurged on an oragami set and magazine at the book store.
Then we headed over to Olive Garden to use a gift card to Olive Garden. It's also been burning a whole in my pocket since the holidays ... and this was the perfect time to use it. Little Diva LOVES salad and can't get enough black olives.
Little Diva also had a gift card to the local pottery store. We've been there several times and she was so excited to pick out some new pieces to paint ... she chose a horse and an elephant. I didn't purchase a piece for myself this time, because of my tight budget and the gift card just covered her two pieces. The sweetheart gave me one of her pieces to paint because she wanted mommy to have fun, too.
this post makes me smile! HAPPY day!

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time with Little Diva - that's got to mean a lot to her and I'm sure she will appreciate it that time you spent with her.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like both of you had a GREAT time. I love the pic of little d eating the cupcake!
ReplyDeleteSpending quality time with your kids is very important, especially when they are young and staying active with them is a great and healthy way to do that. Being girly is also fun, so to combine them you should get the proper athletic clothing for you and your daughter. Some products I found worth looking at are the t-shirts and boxers at www.wickers.com that also use moisture wicking technology to reduce perspiration. These products are of high quality and extremely affordable, starting at $18 for men and women's t-shirts. They have specialty styles for all uses from children's ware to fire retardant models useful for firefighters and soldiers. Whatever your need, Wickers' online store is worth checking out.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is precious! Glad you had such a good bonding time. Love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteThis is so ridiculously adorable. Seriously. My son is 3 and I kind of can't wait until he's old enough to do more stuff like this. Right now our dates are more like watching a movie together. That's about the attention span.
