FitDeck Product Review & Giveaway

Earlier this year I was introduced to FitDeck (HERE). FitDeck, Inc. was founded in 2004 by fitness entrepreneur and inventor Phil Black. He came up with the idea to create FitDeck after combining the fun of a card game he used to play in college with the rigors of his Navy SEAL training.

FitDeck is a unique deck of 56 playing cards containing illustrations and instructions describing over 50 different exercises, stretches, and movements.

Check out all of these fabulous sets:

FitDeck Bodyweight
FitDeck Senior
FitDeck Junior
FitDeck Yoga
FitDeck Pilates
FitDeck Stretch
FitDeck Prenatal
FitDeck Postnatal
FitDeck Basketball
FitDeck Soccer
FitDeck Swimming

These FitDecks can be used on their own -- or they can be mixed into other FitDecks or FitDeck Boosters to create hundreds of interesting cross-training opportunities.

Each card easy to read and follow, as they are each divided into four segments:

- Workout Name

- Body Segment Exercised

- Exercise Movements

- Exercise Description

Each card also lists suggested intervals or time for each exercise, to make working out a breeze and easy to fit into any busy schedule. You can do as little or as much as your ... and your family's ... schedule allows.

As a runner, I opted to try the Speed, Agility & Quickness set. I was a little worried at first, because all I do is RUN! (yes, ALL, I do is run .... 13.1 miles here ... 26.2 miles there). But, I realize I need to mix up my routine a bit, add some cross training, more stretching and some strength training. It will make me more fit and an all around better athlete and runner.

This set requires no equipment and was easy to follow. I found doing these exercises difficult though. It's different cardio than I'm used to ... but I enjoyed it. Lots of jumping, hurdling, sprints, hopping around. Lots of fun that you can do virtually anywhere ... at the gym, your home gym, the living room with the kids, your hotel room while you're away on business, the park with the kids ... you name it!

I really liked trying out a few of these workouts and look forward to rotating them in with my running. Hopefully they help make me faster when racing season starts up again in the spring!!
