Surrounding Myself with Inspiration

I'm ever rearranging things in our home gym. For the past few years, hubby and I had shared a bulletin board, that housed all of our bib numbers and medals. Our hobby has grown into an obsession and we were quickly outgrowing the space we had to store all of our bib numbers and such. So, I recently purchased an oversized bulletin board for myself and included all of my bib numbers (each safety pin represents a calendar year). I've also included some of my favorite race photos and momentos. Some cards from fellow bloggers are also tagged on the bulletin board. When time allows this winter (ugh, I don't even want to think about it), I hope to fancy it up a bit with paint and scrapbooking supplies. But, in the meantime it works.
Stay tuned for an AWESOME giveaway,
if you're looking for a fabulous way to store all of your medals!!

I was able to meet up with Nicole from Njoy Life (HERE) at the Disney Princess Half Marathon this year. Little Diva and I both wore animal print running skirts during our races at WDW. Nicole was so sweet to make me these matching runner girls.

I picked up the glittery RUN letters in the Dollar Bin at Target.
(Yes, I love the Dollar Bin just as much as the kiddos!).

I have all of my Disney Princess Half Marathon memorabilia showcased together.

You can also pick up this adorable I Dare You to Run Like a Girl poster in The Penny Jane Designs Etsy Shop (HERE). Cathy has all sorts of fun, unique posters at an affordable price.

Oh, and we can't forget the bucket full of Bondi Bands.
Do you have a home gym?
What are some of your favorite
items in your space??

  1. LOVE the way you have everything displayed!
I talk all the time about getting a book or something to put my bibs and pics in, but since I am not that fast of a runner and have only done 5k's I feel like it might be silly! LOL But you've definitely inspired me! Looks great! And no home gym here, unless you call a few kettlebells, resistance bands and hand weights drug from the garage to the driveway a home gym! LOL

  2. It all looks great! I don't have a home gym but I have an area in my home office to display medals and some other items. I'm trying to figure out right now what to do with all my bibs.

  3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the pics of your daughter running as well!! What an awesome legacy to give her... My daughter is 6 and can kick my butt in a mile run (I keep telling her I will catch her and then surpass her as I lose weight) :) I have never thought of creating a family picture area... Our things are just shoved into closets....

    LOVE IT!!

  7. We very recently began the conversion of one-car section of our garage into a gym. We have a full gigantic set of dumbbells, a bench that does incline, decline, and flat, and a dip station. We are working on scrounging up mirrors and rubber flooring but I am so happy with the progress we've made! I started working on my motivational bulletin board over the weekend too, so I hope to put that up this weekend. (My hubby has a poster of Ah-nold in his glory days of bodybuilding up as his motivation. Apparantly that's all he needs lol.)

  9. Love, love, love that display! All of my medals are hanging from my mirror in my bedroom and the bibs that I did keep are scattered about the house. Some downstairs in the mail basket and others upstairs in the computer desk. I do have a treadmill and elliptical in the basement. Maybe I should come up with a cool way to display it all down there. Of course I just realized that I am thinking I threw out my Ohio 1/2 marathon bibs, but I may at least have my finisher's certificate from one or both or perhaps I can print them online so that I can do something really cool with everything after we complete a 1/2 in all 50 states. Now, I have to look and see what I do have! And I do believe I am now addicted to Bondi Bands. Will be shopping online soon!!

  10. I love the bulletin board!! I keep all my medals on display at my desk since no one would really see them at my place...but I never thought to put up the bib numbers. Excellent idea!

I wish I had a home gym, but living in a 2nd floor apartment makes it difficult. I have some weights, bands & a yoga mat. I make it work :)

  12. Very cool displays and I'm sure they provide you a ton of inspiration everytime you look at them.

I am working on the home gym right now and I've framed my most special medals with the bibs, programs, pins, etc...that go together. I have a couple of wall hooks for the other medals I've collected. I hope at some point to figure out what to do with all the bibs - maybe I'll try the by year system you have - I like that :)!

Oh yeah - I bought my first Bondi Bands and I have to say that while I've only used it once so far, I really liked it.

  19. I have a toy chain hung up with all my bib numbers on it. Behind the treadmill. The most important ones get framed. All the medals are hung up in the living room, running out of places to hang them.
I guess I will have to post a pic one of these days.
