Just Call Us "The Bondi Band Family"

Yes, I am OBSESSED with Bondi Bands. What started as "trying one out" at the 2008 Chicago Marathon Expo, became an obsession. And, they have kind of become my trademark. So many of YOU love them and why not? They are fashionable AND functional. Once I chopped my hair off after Little Dude (kid #2) was born (I got about 18 inches of long locks cut off -- ouch), I was looking for something to replace my baseball cap. I wanted something that kept the sweat out of my eyes (I always had a problem with my eyes burning after a long run; even with hats) and something that kept my hair from bouncing around. My hair was too short to pull back or even the sides up. Bondi Bands were an awesome discovery for me. Now I have a huge basket full of them in our home gym.

I almost always have one to match my running outfits. I even try to match when I'm doing all of my solo treadmill running downstairs on the dreadmill. Yep!
They are fabulous and ALWAYS stay in place for me. The fabrics can differ from style to style. But, I haven't had a problem with the different fabrics.
I have all of these .... and want more .....
Anyone want to do some early Mother's Day shopping for me?!?!?!?! Start shopping here.

I never EVER thought my husband would try them out, but as he was training for Ironman last year, Bondi Band let him try some out (the plain ones here) and he fell in love with them too. I though that he may test them out on the treadmill, but never outdoors. I was wrong -- he even sported one at Ironman, on the run! He even has buddies that are sporting them now, too. So, don't think they're just for chicks. Here's his growing collection ......

As Little Diva has started some kids races, I've let her join in the excitement with a Bondi Band purchase at some of the race expos she's attended. Knowing how big her shoe collection and assortment of Limited Too outfits, I'm sure she will have quite the collection, too, someday ...

It's gotten so bad that Little Dude (age 2) always has to sport them when I'm working out. We saw Rebecca's booth at the Disney Princess Half Marathon Expo and he yelled, "Bondi Bands" in excitement!!!!!
In the first photo, I'm sporting this awesome Marathon Mama ringer that I purchased last year off of Cafe Press. You can snag it here.

  3. I'm itching to try them out. I hate flyaways and sometimes hats put too much pressure on my noggin!! Our marathon expo is next week and hoping to snag one there (I was too cheap pay for shipping)...

  6. I'm still unsure if I want to try them. But you look super awesome, and I just got my hair cut shorter... Maybe I will have to order some to keep my hair out of my face now that a ponytail won't work!

  9. I have 20+ bands too! And right now I'm doing a fundraiser for Leukemia and Lyphoma Society. The bands are $8 like the website (cheaper if you buy more than one) and you don't have to pay shipping, its on me! It would be great if you let your readers know! Here's the info...http://runninaround.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/bondi-band-fundraiser-for-leukemia-and-lymphoma-society/

  10. Wow! I'd say you must like them. I just got my first one - but it just doesn't fit as I would like it to. I thought it would be tighter? What do you think?

  11. Bondi Bands are so cute, but they would never work for me. My head must be oddly shaped because headbands of any sort always slip off! Sadness!

  12. I absolutely love bondi bands too! I only have 4 of them though..ha ha!

It's funny what you said about your husband b/c my husband is the same way. He went on a bike ride when it was kindof chilly out and he needed something to wear over his ears, but it needed to be thin enough to fit under his helmet. Voila! He used one of my plain bondibands and he loved it! Now he's pretty much stolen it from me, which means I only have 3. Hmmm, maybe I should get some more! :)

  13. I'm going to have to try Bondi Band for sure. I'm growing my hair out and it's not long enough to pull back yet and it's begining to bug me on my runs.
